Between seasons: The fresh spring air of Quebec.
In our beautiful corner of the world with its distinctly different seasons, we enthusiastically celebrate this in-between season, a time when we gradually trade in heavy coats for *slightly* lighter jackets. We prepare to enjoy every big gulp of fresh air and rediscover the joy of outdoor activities that breathe spring, all while being properly dressed.
Let’s go!
Heading for great nature walks
The in-between season offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning trails of our national parks before the hot days arrive. As the snow gently melts and buds start to bloom, the landscapes transform, providing a perfect backdrop for a small (or big) outdoor hike.
Hiking enthusiasts will find their happiness in destinations like Mont-Tremblant National Park, where well-marked trails wind through dense forests and breathtaking valleys. For a more secluded experience, Jacques-Cartier National Park offers trails with panoramas that will make your Instagram followers envious.
To fully enjoy your spring outing, it’s essential to be well-equipped. Besides sturdy shoes, don’t forget to bring a beanie to keep your head warm!
Two wheels, full speed ahead
Spring also means the return of cyclists to the paths and roads of Quebec. Whether you prefer a leisurely ride along a well-maintained bike path or a more extreme adventure on mountain bike trails, there’s something for all skill levels! No excuses.
The bike paths of the Le P'tit Train du Nord linear park offer kilometers of beautiful scenery to explore solo, with family, or with friends. Mountain biking enthusiasts can head to Mont-Sainte-Anne Park to tackle technical trails surrounded by nature in full bloom.
Before heading out, make sure to pack the right accessories for your ride. A hood over your helmet (mandatory) to protect you from the wind during fast descents is a great idea.
For the more adventurous, jump in the water
With the spring thaw, the rivers and lakes come back to life. Paddling peacefully on a calm lake or tackling the rapids of a turbulent river? There’s no shortage of adventures here.
The Rouge River is a popular destination for kayaking, offering a mix of adrenaline and dreamlike landscapes. For a gentler experience later in the season, our beloved Lac Saint-Jean is ideal for canoeing, with its calm waters and fine sandy beaches.
Here too, make sure to be well-prepared for the spring conditions before grabbing your paddle by bringing a bamboo neck warmer to tackle the fresh wind blowing over the water!
See you outside?
